The trail runs from central to eastern Bhutan. Involves fairly steep climbs and descents but not very high altitude ascents are required. Not very much frequented by hikers, the beauty of this trail – used by local people to interact with different districts – is the diversity one comes across, not just of vegetations and landscapes, but of ethnicity, culture and customs. As a result, from the start till the end, there are endless changes and surprises, making it ideal especially for nature and cultural enthusiasts.
• An incredible array of biodiversity, lush forests of various climatic zones, alpine flowers, meadows, springs, gorges, and mountain passes
• Spectacular natural beauty
• Hamlets, paddy and corn fields, and olden temples, some as old as 1,500 years, across three districts
• Local ethnicity and culture, each different from the other.
